Ted and Charlotte Thomas Ted and Charlotte Thomas have been dedicated volunteers for Chincoteague NWR,VA for over 10 years. Their enthusiasm and creativity, and their wide scope of knowledge ranging from botany to astronomy to ornithology, have proved invaluable in every project they have undertaken. One of their most well-known projects is the promotion of T. R. Bear, the Teddy Roosevelt commemorative bear, as an ambassador for the Refuge System and a fundraiser for the Chincoteague Natural History Association. Ted and Charlotte have visited 36 refuges with T. R. Bear in tow. The Thomases have also been very active in developing a variety of programs to help educate refuge visitors of all ages. |
