Navy Seabees The Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 28, Detachment 0428 of the U.S. Navy Seabees has donated materials, equipment, and labor for a variety of much needed construction and maintenance projects on Mingo NWR, MO. Operating in skilled, energetic, and professional teams, the Seabees completed several projects including replacing 80 feet of boardwalk, discing fields, cutting a spillway, mowing and seeding, plumbing, wiring, painting, and vehicle maintenance. The Seabee teams were involved in the design and first-phase construction of a handicap-accessible overlook project, completing the gravel parking lot and observation tower. Deployment of the unit prevented immediate completion of the project, but plans are in place for the remaining phases of the project. |
