Patricia Martinkovic Patricia Martinkovic, manager of Long Island NWRC in NY, has worked to increase public awareness of the wildlife and habitat protected by the Refuge Complex and to involve a wide variety of local and national organizations in projects to acquire and restore significant wetlands and other habitats. She helped establish the Friends of Wertheim and supports their efforts. Pat has effectively managed the challenges of an urban refuge complex to accommodate public use, limit the threats posed by commercial development, and clearly present the value of conserving and managing the protected habitat. |
