Jonathan Yentis

Jonathan Yentis is the seed collecting, identifying, cleaning, and planting guru at the Neal Smith NWR in Iowa, proving a valuable contribution to the refuge's prairie restoration project. He is both meticulous and enthusiastic in this painstaking work. As a member of the board of the Friends of the Prairie Learning Center, he maintains the membership list and writes the Gentle Breezes email newsletter. He is well known for his brownies, chili, and burgers; he creates origami frogs and birds; he monitors a vegetation transect throughout the year; he helps collect bison "plops" for food habits studies. He has demonstrated an ability and desire to learn about anything and everything needed to help with refuge projects.
