Joseph McCauley As manager of the Eastern Virginia Rivers NWRC, Joseph McCauley has coordinated a very proactive Land Acquisition Program, fought invasive varieties of Phragmites, and initiated a multi-faceted Public Use Program. By working with land conservancy organizations, Joe helped increase the size of the Eastern Virginia Rivers NWRC by almost 2/3, to now total over 6000 acres, and has developed "Conservation Easement Guidelines" to serve as a template for negotiations. He helped form the Rappahannock Phragmites Action Committee, which works throughout the area. He has ensured that the new Rappahannock River Valley NWR developed a program providing all six of the priority public uses for national wildlife refuges. |
