Joe and Martha Davis

Joe and Martha Davis began volunteering at Okefenokee NWR in Georgia in 1994, helping with trail maintenance and preparation for special events. A few years ago, they initiated an extensive recycling program at the Refuge, collecting not only readily recyclable materials such as aluminum and glass, but also items such as styrofoam, and have found the facilities that would accept those collected discards as well. Their dedication has inspired others to recycle, thus benefiting the refuge and the entire community.
