Friends of Deep Fork NWR The Friends of Deep Fork NWR in Oklahoma have implemented an active outreach program to increase local awareness of Deep Fork NWR and the NWRs throughout Oklahoma by helping fund and promote the Oklahoma Refuges Centennial Celebration events. The Friends developed an environmental education program placing special emphasis on funding school field trips so students can experience the refuge first hand. The group also works to draw the local community to Deep Fork NWR by organizing activities such as a fish fry and barbecue. |
