Beverly Postmus

Beverly Postmus has been volunteering for the J.N. "Ding" Darling NWR in Florida for over 10 years. She began staffing the information desk in the refuge's visitor center, then moved outdoors to lead bird watching tours, sharing with the public her enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of bird behavior, habitat and conservation. As one of the top birding spots in the country, "Ding" Darling hosts 800,000 birders a year; Bev helps train up to 100 refuge volunteers a year in bird identification. Bev also assists with data collection for surveys of indicator species such as black-whiskered vireos and with monitoring and recording data on the threatened snowy plover.
