Operated
by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the National
Conservation Training Center is one of the world's premier
conservation training facilities, created by the U.S. Fish
and Wildlife Service for natural resource managers in federal
and state agencies around the country. Classrooms feature
state-of-the-art equipment. Buildings designed to resemble
the 19th farm landscape blend into the rural grounds, providing
a unique and idyllic retreat setting to foster learning.
Although
not technically a refuge, the scenic campus is home to many
species of wildlife. A bald eagle's nest is visible from many
points around the campus, including a number of classrooms.
