Title: Altamira Oriole

Caption: The Altamira Oriole (Icterus gularis), photographed at Santa Ana NWR, is a real "South Texas specialty." Pictured here is a first-year bird. Since the species, essentially Mexican in character, cannot be found elsewhere in the U.S., many bird watchers will visit Santa Ana and appropriate nearby locations to find this and other near-tropical species.
