Caption:
Hunting is one of the "big six" recreational
activities associated with National Wildlife Refuges.
(The other five are: fishing, wildlife watching, wildlife
photography, environmental education, and environmental
interpretation.) Today, about 300 refuges offer some
type of hunting. Many of these refuges celebrate National
Fishing Week, National Wildlife Refuge Week, and National
Hunting and Fishing Day with fishing derbies, special
youth hunts, and other events that expose the next generation
of conservationists to these activities.
